SS-31, cardiolipin and mitochondrial structure

The experimental basis for studying SS-31 at the inner mitochondrial membrane.

Apex Pharma Research

SS-31, also called elamipretide in published literature, is an aromatic-cationic tetrapeptide studied for interactions with cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane.

A renal-ischaemia model linked SS-31–cardiolipin interaction with cristae preservation and ATP recovery. This is mechanistic and preclinical evidence from a defined model, not a general performance claim.

A verified analytical result can document measured content and purity for a submitted sample. It cannot establish biological efficacy or equivalence to material used in a publication.
